Absences
A parent/guardian must complete the Google form or call in the student absence by noon of the following school day in order for the absence to be excused.
Late Arrivals
Students who arrive on campus after the first 20 minutes of class will be marked with an Excused or Unexcused absence.
Excused Absence needs one of the following:
- Parent/guardian sign student in at front desk
- An email sent to dh_release@dvusd.org stating the student will be late prior to their arrival at the front office. The email must contain the following:
- Student First & Last Name
- Student ID #
- Approximate time of arrival
- Attached copy of the parent/guardian driver’s license (must be included in every email)
- Medical Documentation if the student is at an appointment prior to arriving at the front office
Unexcused Absence
- A parent/guardian does not sign the student in, does not send an email prior to arrival, or no medical documentation provided.
No late or tardy phone calls or written notes will be accepted at any time
Sign Out/Early Dismissal
Parent/Guardian must come to the front office and show photo ID before a student will be released. Please allow ample time to pick up your student for early dismissal. Students cannot be called up to the office ahead of time to wait for their parent/guardian to arrive. Please make prior arrangements with your student to come to the front office between periods.
Early Dismissal For Driving Students That Park On DVHS Campus
A parent/guardian may request an early dismissal for a licensed student who parks on the DVHS campus by emailing dh_release@dvusd.org with the following information:
- Student’s: First & Last name
- Student’s ID #
- Time leaving
- Reason for leaving
- State that the student parks on DVHS Campus
- Attached copy of the parent/guardian driver’s license
Students must come to the attendance/front office to receive a dismissal pass, sign out and be excused.
Students arriving late or departing early from school must sign in and out each and every time at the attendance/front office.
