Coach Greg Rice’s Personal, Professional, & Educational Bio
I was born and raised in Fontana, California. I met my wife Laura in 1983, and married in 1986. Together we raised three daughters-twins Jenna and Emily and our youngest Megan. All three are graduates of Arizona State University. I have 5 grandchildren. We moved to Arizona in 1998. My family are active members at Northwest Church of Christ. Running, baseball, golfing, working out, and reading are how I enjoy spending my time.
I started my career teaching Physical Education in 2001 at Deer Valley Middle School. While there I coached Boys Volleyball and Boys Baseball. In 2003 I transferred to Sandra Day O’Connor High School to teach Physical Education and Health. I was the Girl’s Golf Coach at SDOHS for 13 years and the Boys Freshmen/JV Baseball for 11 years. The Girl’s Golf team won a region title in 2009 and 3 DV Cups titles. I was honored with the title of Northwest Region Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2009. I transferred to Deer Valley High School in 2017 to teach Physical Education and Health and have been the Head Baseball Coach and Golf Coach since 2015.
I have a Bachelor's degree from University of Redlands and a Master's degree from University of Phoenix.
