About Mr. Krumland 

My name is James Krumland and I am the Assistant Principal over Discipline and Activities.

I grew up in Scottsdale and attended Horizon High School. I then went to N.A.U. to study to become a Special Education teacher and my first teaching job was in Hawaii!

I have been at Deer Valley High School since 2004 where I began as a Special Education Teacher. I have been the Special Education Department Chair as well as the Special Education Strategist at Deer Valley High School.  During my time as a teacher I was also the JV boys baseball coach, the Varsity Boys golf coach and the Varsity Girls basketball coach. This is my first year as an Assistant Principal.

I am a huge sports fan with my favorite teams being the Padres, Chargers and Clippers. You will see my office decorated with those teams. 

I look forward to a great year in showing support to both the students and our staff!
